Popular Long Hairstyles Men 2017 Are Sporting These Days

How do you currently wear your hair? Each man has his preferred hairstyle, and of course, it changes over time. I’m 35, and I no longer wear my hair the way I used to for sure. It’s funny how men can get comfortable, however, and not change much until something prompts them to do so. I’ll never forget growing up how long I kept opting for a bowl cut when they were popular.

In fact, instead of opting entirely out of the bowl cut, I decided since to go for more of a bowl cut with a fade if you will. Over time, I no longer had the top of my hair scissor cut, and instead, I opted for an eight guard to be used. I also used to want the back rounded, but now I keep having it squared off. Those minor changes to my haircut have spanned across 20 years or more, all while so many different popular hairstyles have come into play.

Intermittently, I have enjoyed growing out my hair. My childhood best friend could pull off that type of hairstyle much better than I ever could. As a teenager, the grunge look was ‘in,’ and that meant it was quite popular to grow out your hair. I have done so about three times in my life at different times, and I have always parted it down the middle. This look is still popular by the way. When it comes to popular long hairstyles men, 2017 should know that you can always go with shoulder length hair and a part down the middle.

Now, another popular hairstyle for men with long hair is to have dreads. This is a hairstyle that is going to fit a person that is going for a certain type of look, but it’s still a significant mention. You’re not going to see the business executive go into the office with dreads, but in many cases, you’re not going to see a business manager with longer hair anyway.

Living right on the beach, I see quite a few men with long hair. The length of a man’s hair can vary of course, and some longer hairstyles fit more into the ’emo’ look. When these metro hairstyles first came out, I wasn’t much of a fan, were you? They looked too feminine in my opinion. But now, I like a lot of those unique hairstyles.

One trademark of men who want to grow out their hair is to shave their actual sideburns, yet let the hair on the side of their head grow out and fan forward. Again, if you’re not used to this look, it can appear to be a little bit too feminine for some. Additionally, these types of hairstyle modifications are more for the millennials, as you’re not going to see grandpa fanning his sideburns forward.

Still, there are plenty of popular long hairstyles men 2017 can choose from when deciding to grow their hair out. Sometimes you just have to test the waters based on the type of hair you have, your facial structure and your overall look. Some people that grow their hair out end up with a fro, which is always popular in its way.

Men can also grow their hair out to help cover thinning hair in other spots. You’ve seen it, the comb-over, and some men pull it off better than others. An extreme example of some comb-over is the Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump. There is a picture of him standing in the wind where his hair is tussled up, and you can tell it’s quite lengthy in parts.

Men who grow their hair out and part it down the middle used to like to keep it behind their ears. However, men like to let that hair fall forward these days, and it doesn’t always necessarily have to be the same length. Also, while parting your hair down the middle is still ‘in style,’ getting the undercut underneath is not. Boy, do I remember those days.

Dreads were mentioned, but what about braids? Middle-aged men can pull of dreads, and grandpa can even pull off a ponytail for his long hair, but braids are for the young ones. I had my hair done in braids multiple times when I was a kid and when I had my hair grown out. However, this is less of a popular hairstyle these days.

One thing that can help you decide which popular long hairstyles men 2017 like best today is to look at pictures. No that doesn’t mean you have to pick up the magazines at the stylist’s to get an idea and then present it to her. That is so old school, and what you need to do instead is to look at images online.

What are the leading Hollywood men sporting when it comes to long hair. Look at Jared Leto for instance, who is notorious for his long hair. Keanu Reeves has also been one to have long hair, and Christian Slater is another one. There are plenty of celebrities to look at when it comes to popular hairstyles for men with long hair.

What type of men like to grow their hair out? Just about any boy does these days in an attempt to stand out, try something different, be stylish and modern, etc. Surfers like long hair, and so do skateboarders.

After the last time I grew my hair out, I said I wasn’t going to do it ever again. Personally, I think I look better with shorter hair. But, I’ve also always had extremely thick hair, until now. I still have all my hair, no bald spots, so I feel blessed, but at the top, I’m starting to thin out just a little. That means that when my hair is short, you can see this change. I think it might be time for me once again to check out popular long hairstyles men 2017 are currently wearing.
